Project Management (Post-Degree Diploma)
Curriculum Guideline
Applicants must meet the admission requirements listed below:
- General College Admission Requirements
- Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or an equivalent credential from an approved institution of a different country. Any applicant who earned their credential in a language other than English must meet the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøÆØÒ»Çø¶þÇø English language proficiency requirement.
Graduation Requirements
- Successful completion of 30 credits
- At least 50% (15 credits) of all coursework must be completed at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøÆØÒ»Çø¶þÇø.
- Minimum of 15 upper-level credits
- A minimum program GPA of 2.00 is required.
- In good academic standing.
- Time limit to complete the program graduation requirements: four (4) years. Any courses completed outside of that time limit will not be usable. Students may seek the permission of the Department/Program to complete a credential outside the approved time limits.
- Up to 50% (15 credits) of coursework used towards a previously received credential can be used to meet graduation requirements (see the Credentials Awarded Policy and see note 4).

Notes:
1) Students who complete this program will have met all or most of the educational requirements to challenge the following certification exams offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI):
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM),
- Project Management Professional (PMP),
- Risk Management Professional (RMP),
- Professional in Business Analysis (PBA),
- Scheduling Professional (SP),
- Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), and/or
- Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP).
2) The courses, above, have been listed in the recommended order for students to take them. To complete the program efficiently, students need to:
- Make note of courses that are not offered every term to adjust their plans accordingly,
- Take all pre-requisites prior to attempting to register for a given course, and
- Satisfy the pre-requisites that require grades higher than C-.
3) COBA 4885 and COBA 4886 (Experiential Learning and Internship I and II) provide the opportunity for students to gain unpaid work experience and course credit. Students who would like to find out more about internship should email the careercentre@douglascollege.ca at the start of their program. Please contact the program coordinator regarding other COBA courses that may also be eligible.
4) If replacement courses are required, students are responsible for:
- Choosing courses that fulfill all graduation requirements; and
- Completing pre-requisites for the replacement courses (i.e., not expect pre-requisite overrides).
Replacement courses should be 3-credits. The following replacement course options are recommended:
- Any course from CBA (i.e., BUSN, ACCT, BLAW, COBA, CSIS, ECON, FINC, HOSP, or MARK);
- From outside CBA, the courses that are listed in the table below;
- Any Modern Language (MODL) course; or
- A similar course, as approved by the Program Coordinator.

Students who complete this program will be able to:
- Utilize a broad knowledge of theories and principles of project management at the generalist and specialist level.
- Understand the roles within project management in achieving the operational and strategic goals of an organization.
- Manage human resources in projects at an entry level.
- Apply their knowledge and skills in core project management areas.
